November 2014 Communications and Social Media Report

We continue to add readership and participation with our Sarasota Sister Cities social networking system. We encourage you to network with us if you use Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest or Google+. You can post information directly to these sites.

The three sites below disseminate information - no log in required - just click on the link below:

Blog            sarasotasistercities.com

Web            sarasotasistercities.org

Pinterest     sarasotasistercities.us

You can reach all of our links and systems from the left column of the blog:

The systems below are best to build interaction among Sister City Members. If you use them please post information and photos of interest to Sister City members directly.

Google+     goo.gl/HgfrE

Twitter        twitter.com/#!/SarasotaSisterC

We are slowly adding videos to our sites. We also have added a large number of photos. You can find these sites in the left column on the blog or by clicking the link below:

The blog is the best site to learn about what Sister Cities has done or what is upcoming. We post upcoming information and also photos of events. The Website automatically picks up the latest 5 posts from the blog. The Website also has the best information about policies and our sister cities. Pinterest provides a great pictorial history of the organization.

Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Google+ are all designed to get people to interact. We post a short message on each system with a link back to the blog. You have to sign up for these programs - this is free and simple.  You will want go to our pages and like or friend or link to them. Then you will see what we post and everyone will see what you post. Over time we hope to get a number of people interacting on these systems.

In addition to our main blog of sarasotasistercities.com we have also set up a blog for each of our eight Sister Cities. The idea is that these blogs will focus on just the relationship of Sarasota with that Sister City.

The City Director's can of course use this or not as they wish. Anything they want to add or delete from their blog send it to me and I will be add ior delete the information. I would also be happy to assist them to learn how to make entries on the blog themselves, or I will post for them if they prefer. They can just send me an email with any corrections, deletions, or additions.

The individual city blog address can be typed directly or can be found in the left column of the main blog. The address always starts with the name of the sister city followed by Sarasota, then blogspot.com.  I used the short name for the Sister City - not the province, which would make for a long and hard to remember address.

Let me know of any changes that should be made.

Dave Harralson and Carrie Weaver have our new membership database program up and running.  It is a nice system that should help us improve our media interactions with our memberships. Dave and Carrie are providing training for Board Members and they can help you log in if you have trouble using the system.   i

August 2014 Report

We continue to work to build our social network for our Sarasota Sister Cities Membership.  We connect using Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest, and Google+. If you are using any of those systems please like or friend or link with us. Our addresses are listed on the bottom of this email.

We continue to use our Blog to spread current Sarasota Sister Cities news. :

We are always looking for scoop about the organization to post on our blog, so please email any items of information to me and I will post.

Our Web site also provides a great deal of information.

Web        sarasotasistercities.org

We have also developed a blog for each one of our eight Sister Cities. The addresses for each one start with the name of our Sister City and then Sarasota. The easiest way to reach these blogs is to go to the blog - they are in the left column.  One example below.

Our consultants have completed their first draft of our video.  Five of our members have reviewed it and the consultant is revising. A draft should be ready for your review soon.

We have been collecting photos of the organization and posting them on line. You can view them by going to the blog, and clicking on the links in the left column.

Thank you for your review.

The Web site automatically picks up the latest 5 posts from the blog. The web site has content that does not change often and is of interest to new members. You can get to all of our social networking systems from either the blog or web site.

Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest and Google+ are all designed to be interactive. These systems will work best when we have a number of SisterCity members actively using these systems and exchanging information. If you are interested I would encourage you to connect with us on one or more systems.

Our membership contact list with names, addresses, phone numbers and emails is on the blog in the left column under Board Member Only.  Only Board members can read or write to this spread sheet file.  If you wish to read it and cannot send and email to sarasotasistercities@gmail.com and I will reinvite you.
